I learned from studying Ida P. Wells ...Dr. Cintli,
I learned from studying Ida P. Wells - who wrote anti-lynching speeches/articles at the turn of last century - that our participation in the PUBLIC DISCOURSE is integral in swaying public opinions and policies (laws). Since my high school days in the 80's you have been a VOICE OF XICAN@ EXPERIENCE, JUSTICE AND SOCIAL STRUGGLE (I read my sister's copy of Assault With a Deadly Weapon, & 460 Yrs Xicano Hist in Pics in 11th grade, my first Chicano narrative). Your victory against the LAPD was precedent, brought Xican@s together, and showed us we could organize and WIN! Your voice in Tucson, standing with the sisters and brothers en Chuk-Shon, and your defense of those attacked is courageous and important. Keep up the skilled insightful writing, the light in the darkness. Suerte y justicia y dignidad hoy, en el dia de tu trial against death threats, y siempre!

In La Kesh/Your fight is OUR fight/Juntos Venceremos!
Viva y RESUCITA Raza Studies en Chuk-Shon!!!!

Elias Serna
President, Assoc. of Mexican American Educators- Santa Monica - West Los Angeles Chapter
UCR English PhD Candidate
Chicano Secret Service - Minister of Pleitoesern002https://www.blogger.com/profile/13836257120923996944noreply@blogger.com
